On September 2, we celebrate the life of our Queen, Lili’uokalani.
She was the last reigning monarch of the Hawaiian Kingdom. When she ruled, she was persistent in her attempts to restore the kingdom from greedy businessmen, famously known as the Provisional Government. This caused an uproar between the two. To avoid the bloodshed of her people, she gave up her power in the kingdom.
She composed many songs, translated the Kumulipo (Hawaiian creation chant), protected the water, and created a trust to benefit vulnerable children. Truly perpetuating her legacy for our people.
We honor her with this new coloring page that will be free to download.
