Hawai’i People Fund is for “Change Not Charity”. Since 1972, the organization has been providing grants to progressive grassroots social change organizations of Hawaii through the support of  community funding. Hawai‘i People’s Fund assists groups considered too small, too new, or too controversial by traditional funding agencies. It is a unique partnership of donors, activist grantmakers and grantees with a vision for positive social change and equality. Investments have gone into organizations such as Hawai’i Women in Filmmaking, Hawai’i Peace and Justice, 808 Urban and many others.
